This is the first release of the "Prototype" model released by EI Publishing who published a bi-monthly magazine called "Mini Car Fan" in Japan. This model came from Volume 1 of their Minichamps book (which was later translated into "A Passion for Model Car" Vol. 1 by Minichamps themselves). They have commissioned various models with Minichamps for their magazine's draw. Each book contains a ticket in which the buyer can enter a draw to get the opportunity to purchase the model at ~45 USD. One special feature on this model is the individually numbered insert card, as seen here.
